My first youner brother's wedding party!!!

Dec 27, 2009 was the one of most important days in my brother's life, thought, I missed the chance. What I could do was only to send my distant very best wishes for this new married couple.

Moreover, this day was coincided to a schedule of my trip to Nagoya which kept my distance from my access to internet. Came in the night, I was so curiously looking forward to receive calls from my husband or my beloved youngest sister to update me about the happiest moment of the celebration.

Eventually I got to hear that from my youngest brother. This news relaxed my worry and allowed me to have a good night sleep.

My brother and sister-in-law, may this lucky day begins your happy, joyful, successful and prosperous journey in the rest of your life. Welcome to our family^0^

My last birthday celebration for my supervisor

n
i

Fortunately, the first day of class with sensei after the winter break coincided with his birthday. We thus have had the opportunity to celebrate him a surprise birthday. For this reason, we have eventually happened to do little special memories on his day for him for two times.

The 13 January 2009 falled on Tuesday which was the schedule of the seminar for Econometric Theory and Method by Davidson Mckinnon, the first ever most difficult textbook we have had and most expensive books I have bought. In that year, the celebration was jointly decided, thought under my initiative, by all seminar members, namely, Kaori-san, Kenta-san, Li and me. The arrangement was set up during a small break hours.

The 13 January of this year, 2010, was on Wednesday which again the day of a first class for Environmental Economics which lectured by him. Since I and Li are attending the seminar, I was unable to prepare a cake and a card for him. In stead, Eriko-san and A oi-san were responsible for every thing including logistic arrangement to gathering all his under-his-supervision students to join and procurment task. They have a done a very great job, thanks a lot to them. Eriko did not buy a normal wishing card but she presented with a rather childish big birthday card but it was a nice card. Joining the rush of 20-minute break party were Kaori, Kenta, Eriko, A oi, Li, Ning, Kondo, Yamamoto, of course Chanthon.

Opened the door with the birthday cake with many friends followed, Kaori san presented and Eriko san started singing a Happy Birthday. He was happy and suprised. He expressed his thanks to all us for such a celebration. But, guess what he claimed during the time that...I am so surprised in deep but birthday celebration is so not any more happy moment since I was turning 40 years old. Hahah, maybe it is true to everyone and to me too, such a thing may not be any more an expecting celebration when getting older and older. Thought, time was a bit inconvient, but it was an enjoyable moment we had with each others.

This is my last chance of the 13 Jan in Japan. This day's next year will surely no my presence in Kobe any more because I have to return home to meet my most lovely daugther at the end of this year. For the sake of my future career, my family, and of couse my beloved country too, I have to capture and get knowledge by any means to enhance my future professional career. Hard work and endeavor reward at last...gambatte gambatte!!!!!!!!!

p.s. including two of last year's pics...noticed that?

The first day of Sophea's Kindergarden School

The time passed by so quick when thinking backward. My lovely daugther will be turning 3 years old soon in this upcoming February. Time has come for parents to make decision to start her school life. Like other parents, I have been doing online searching as well as asking friends about the good quality school and affordable school fee of both nursery schools and kindergardens. Thanks to my dearest helpful youngest sister, who acting as the second mommy in social and for official tasks ob my behalf, gave me hands to conduct field visit at each school as per my request.

A few schools which were in our consideration are Seametrey Children Village, Home of English, Golden Gate American School and Western International school. Taking into account of many difficulties such as time consuming and a burden of housework chores facing by my mother and my siblings, I have to constraint myself and lower down my requirement of perfectness. Since we both are away from home we could not demand much. However, everything has been going smoothly and perfectly as planned beyond our expectation. Finally, we have made a decision to select Western Internation School to be my daughter's first ever school. This choice was rather not quality-of-school based but a matter of closest and nearest distance to my residence. It was sounded abit funny to prioritise this factor but it is in fact crucially playing roles in making final decision.

The rationals behind were 1) safety in term of short distance commuting from school to home though it is by motorbike with my youngest sister, 2) school transportation was an inappropriate mean for 3-year old kid because we feel unsafe to let her get on and get off bus and stay alone in crowded but narrow area on bus, 3) this is still one of the well-known and best bilingual (Khmer and English) school for kindergarden, junior and senior high school level and the school fee is not cheap.

As planned, we were able to prepare and make her ready for school in this year 2010. My sister has sent her to WIS on Monday, Jan 04, this week to show her up for interview and to acquaint her with the real school and class environment so that she may be able to adopt herself easily in this environment. At first, the school affair staff thought to place her in a nursery school because she has never been in school before but after getting to know that she has been tought at home they decided to give a chance for her to be interviewed. After being asked a gretting questions such as Hello, How are you, and What is your name? together with picture pointing question for Tiger and Lion by a philipinno teacher. The teacher acclaimed that how a smart girl at this age! and lastly she was permitted to sit in kindergarden level 1.

The next day which is the first testing day has come. She got up and toke her bag ready to school. My mother, at the moment, felt reluctant to allow her alone to stay in class because she afraid that teacher's care is unlike her own care. However, we eventually could convince her and sent her to school this morning. My sister was very well managed the activity. She bought and put a small pack of paper bottle milk, cake and other of her favorite food in my daughter's school bag for her to eat during break time.

After keep watching Kon Tin for a while and learning that she is able to be independent with little support by teacher in class by herself, my sister toke opportunity to attend her class at IFL. Left her alone in class on the first day made her surprised in unfamilar surroundings. Kon Tin recalled that mommy, I was crying loudly loudly and long to shout for suy y but she was not there for me, she left me alone and kept me waiting so long, but I was not scare. My lovely daughter, you really performed so well more I expected, you are extremely smart, that is the best start for you little girl...mommy love you so much. Sorry na that mommy could not be there for you on your first day at school. Keep moving forward, mommy strongly belives in you. The next day is definitely going to be fine with you. You will enjoy there belively baby.

This is one of the special and noteworthy events of this 2010 for my daugther. Of couse, for me and my whole family too. It is heading positively and brightly through out the year 2010, thought. The year 2010 will bring us new resolutions to fulfil our dream and wish list in this year. May good health, good luck, happiness and success be with us ( all members of my families) forever!!!

Dinner at Fisherman Market

This is a tabehodai dinner. At this special day, it costs abit higher than usual, it was 3500Yen per adult. The price were included both tabehodai-buffet for food and nomihodai-buffet for soft drink. My stomach was very angry with me while my mouth and tongue satisfied with a variety of delicious dishes.

Night views in KOBE Habor Land during my last Christmas 09

Last Christmas in Kobe 2009

December is the month containing many special events for Cambodian Students living in KOBE and it is also big celebrations of Christmas and Happy New Year in Japanese society. KOBE university winter break began from 25th 2009 to 07th January 2010.
My party for Dec started right on the last day of my extra-class with my academic advisor. Offering to our request, a memorial gathering among supervisor and supervisees was held. Te party was organised at Vara Vara restaurant. We all were happy and enjoyed the party so much. As usual, the session ended with group photos as a sovenior.
Real vacation sounded and started in the evening of Christmas day. A walk from Sannomiya, the central town of KOBE, to KOBE Habor Land was initiated. Althought, that the weather was so unpleasant at the frozen moment when the wind coming caused reluctant decision of moving forward, we all still happily smiled, enjoyed twisting each others and stepped forward as our plan.
These are shots made at Motomachi-China Town, ahhha, the red big doll and Christmas tree were taken in Sannomiya.
